Affordable Zigbee Smart Home Sensors & Switches

Aqara manufactures a comprehensive ecosystem of Zigbee-based smart home devices — from motion sensors and door contacts to in-wall switches and climate sensors. Reliable, affordable, and fully compatible with Home Assistant, Apple HomeKit, and Alexa.

Our experience with Aqara

Aqara is a cornerstone of our sensor and automation installations. We deploy Aqara motion sensors, door/window contacts, temperature sensors, vibration sensors, water leak detectors, and smart switches across most of our projects. Their Zigbee reliability and Home Assistant integration make them our go-to choice for the sensor layer of any smart home — from simple security setups to complex whole-home automations.

Key capabilities

What makes Aqara stand out

Comprehensive Sensor Range

Motion sensors, door contacts, temperature/humidity sensors, water leak detectors, vibration sensors — everything you need for intelligent automation.

Zigbee Mesh Reliability

Zigbee devices form a mesh network that's more reliable than Wi-Fi for smart home use. Each device strengthens the network.

Apple HomeKit Compatible

Aqara devices work natively with Apple HomeKit through their hub, making them ideal for Apple households.

Long Battery Life

Most Aqara sensors run on small coin-cell batteries that last 2-5 years. Minimal maintenance, maximum reliability.

Affordable Automation

Individual sensors start from under AED 100. Building a comprehensive sensor network across an apartment costs a fraction of premium alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

Do Aqara devices need a hub?+
Aqara devices use Zigbee, which requires a hub. We typically use Home Assistant with a Zigbee coordinator, which serves as the hub for Aqara and all other Zigbee devices.
Are Aqara devices reliable?+
Very. Zigbee is a proven industrial protocol, and Aqara devices are known for consistent performance. We have thousands of Aqara sensors deployed across our projects with excellent reliability.
Can I use Aqara with Apple HomeKit?+
Yes. Aqara offers an Apple HomeKit-compatible hub that lets you control Aqara devices through the Apple Home app and Siri.
How much do Aqara sensors cost in Dubai?+
Motion sensors start from around AED 80, door/window contacts from AED 60, and temperature sensors from AED 70. A full apartment sensor kit typically costs AED 1,000-2,500.
What's the range of Aqara Zigbee devices?+
Individual Zigbee range is about 10-15 meters, but since mains-powered devices act as repeaters, the mesh network extends throughout the home. We've never had range issues in any installation.
