The Brief
The owner of two villas in Springs 2 had six air conditioning zones between them, all still running off the wired wall controllers the developer fitted. They wanted app control and schedules on every zone, and both villas done together.
The Build
Two villas, two AC brands, one visit
The first villa runs two zones on one manufacturer's system. The second runs four zones on a different one. That matters more than it sounds: the thermostat and the labour are identical across all six, but each brand speaks its own control protocol, so the interface between the thermostat and the unit has to match the system it is bridging.
We confirmed the brand per villa before ordering rather than assuming both were the same. Getting that wrong is a return visit and six wrong parts.
Learning thermostats on every zone
Six smart thermostats, one per zone, each with the matching control interface into the existing system. Nothing in the ceiling changed. Every zone gained scheduling, remote control and a temperature history.
One mobilisation for both properties
Both villas sit in the same community, so the whole job ran as one install rather than two separate call-outs.
What Changed
Six zones that used to be set by hand on a wall now run on schedules that match how each house is actually used. The owner sets both properties from one phone, including the villa they are not standing in.
The Dubai version of this problem is familiar: the AC runs all afternoon in an empty house because nothing in the house knows the house is empty.
