The Challenge
The owners of this 3-bedroom townhouse in Zahia, Sharjah, were concerned about home security. They travel frequently for work and wanted to monitor their property remotely. Their existing setup consisted of a basic mechanical lock and no cameras, leaving them reliant on neighbors for any oversight. They also wanted a way to grant temporary access to their housekeeper without handing over physical keys.
Our Approach
Smart Locks
We installed smart locks on the front door and the rear garden entrance. Both locks support PIN codes, smartphone unlocking, and temporary access codes. The family created a recurring schedule for their housekeeper's visits — the code activates only during set hours on specific days and can be revoked instantly from anywhere in the world.
Security Cameras
Five HD security cameras were positioned to cover the front entrance, rear garden, parking area, and the interior hallway. All cameras provide live streaming and record to cloud storage with 30-day retention. Motion-triggered alerts are sent directly to the owners' phones, with smart detection that filters out routine movement like passing cars.
Motion & Entry Sensors
Three motion sensors and two door/window sensors were installed at key points. When the system is armed and motion is detected or a door opens unexpectedly, the owners receive an immediate alert. We also configured an automation where the hallway lights turn on automatically when the front door sensor detects entry after sunset — a small convenience that also deters unauthorized access.
